March 5 Status Update

Seeds started today: Cut and Come Again Zinnia, Strawflower, Heatwave Blend Lettuce
Thinned: Sweet White Spanish Onion, Golden Grande Onion, Snapdragon
Transplanted to other indoor pots: Beets, Sage

I started a hanging basket of spinach ("Satin Spinach") on my deck in RI toady - maybe the cold will help as the ones under the grow lights show no signs of germination. The morning glory is going nuts - planting that so early was clearly a mistake. Some of the lettuce is huge! I'm taking 3 lettuces, the big sage, some oregano, the only zinnia, and the morning glory to join the basil and thyme in my RI kitchen. It's time to put some sort of table in the south windows.

This month, Crockett is telling me: Cut down the chives to the soil line and put them out, sow another crop of lettuce, plant peas and spinach outside, split the dahlia tubers and plant them in pots and when take cuttings when they're 3"-4" tall to root in other pots.
